Having Fun at the Science Museum

We left the wedding and went to find something cheep and fun for the kids to do. We decided to go to the National Science Museum of Malaysia. Upon arriving we learned that Playhouse Disney and other kids televison networks were putting on a kids fun day.The kids played games.

Met TV characters like Ben 10 and the Power Puff Girls.

The had a great time. Thanks Lord for the extra special treat for the kids.

The Formal Reception

The next day we got up and went to the formal reception.

We met up with our close friends. Deann is with her friend Ada who she scrapbooks with when she is in Penang. Shazan is my good friend. He plays golf with me and we discuss many things about life. His brothers names are Shazro and Iskandar

The kids also love spending time with their children.

A Malay Wedding - The First Part

We have been traveling the last week trying to take care of some medical issues and also spend some quality time with some of our Malay friends. We had to drive to Kuala Lumpur for a wedding. We arose that following morning for breakfast. The kids watched this cook make a Malaysian/Indian bread called "Roti Canai".

We arrived at the wedding and began to watch as the groom goes through the ceremony of giving the dowery to the brides family.

DeAnn sat with the ladies off to the side as the first part of the ceremony took place.
Part of the ceremony is giving of gifts. Both families give gifts to the bride and the groom. The brides family must provide two extra gifts to the groom.

The groom says a special Isalmic chant in one single breath without missing a word. If he misses a word he must say it over and over until he gets it correct.
After that, the bride and groom exchanges rings.

Then it's time to eat without forks or spoons.

After eating it is time for the blessing ceremony where people who attended the wedding bless the bride and groom by placing oil and a mixture of flowers on the palm of the bride and grooms hands. No wedding is complete without pictures.

Hannah requested that for her Birthday she would like to have a few friends come over and spend the night.

They played games like Twister and pin the purse on Barbie

No birthday is complete without sharing a little cake with some friends.

Hannah Turns 9 on December the 3rd.

We celebrated Hannah's 9th Birthday at TJI Fridays in Penang, Malaysia

Hannah had to sing a song to the crowd to get her birthday cake.

Hannah is normally never shy but singing in front of this crowd made her quiet nervous.

After a good meal we spent the rest of the day in the mall allowing the kids to play at a special playground located there.

Haven 6th Birthday Nov. 28th

Haven celebrated his birthday with his family and friend Aaron.

Haven spent the day at a nearby waterpark with his family and friend Aaron. They played in the sun and enjoyed eating and wearing the cotton candy they had for a snack.
